Loud popping noises
After hot water is used, tank replaces the water and starts heating cycle. Loud popping and sometimes gurggling can be heard. We have flushed the tank and hardly any residue came out of the hose.
Model is FSG 50 216 Part number is FSG 50 F00n010s06

pilot will stay lit for about one tank heat there is no adjustment for pilot regulator and pilot seem very small

FPSH 40 260
Blowqer starts, runs 5-10 seconds then stops. Tried turning off switch to reset, no luck. Unhooked blower pressure hose, no luck. Temporarily jumpered temp switch at blower, no luck. No voltage @ Ignitor. Light some times flashes 4 then hesitates and reflashes 4.

the vacation/low temp light as well as the very hot temp light ("C") are on at the same time. if you hold the two arrow buttons down to reset the water temp nothing happens none of the lights flash just the two lights I mentioned glowing steadedly(the far lift and the far right)

I have the same problem. The pilot lights; the flame burns and then poof...nothing. I was able to fix it for the last few weeks by finagling the thermostat until it stayed lit; but alas, it did not work this time. Any ideas?

Draining / flushing
I have the FSG 40 232 water heater and our hot water supply has gotten very low. I have heard that draining the tank may help but not sure of the proper way to do it. A manual would be nice to have too, thanks for the help.

expected lifespan
i replaced my water heater with an AO Smith pec 80 in early 04. it has started leaking rusty water and the pan is full, so clearly something has rusted out. it's losing 2 or 3 bucketfulls of water per day! What is the lifespan of these products?

We can't take more than one shower with the water staying hot. Plus it just not started dripping outside from the over flow pipe. I would also like the owners manuel. It was not with the hot water heater when I bought the house.

There are gaps where water is not hot enough for shower.
Need to adjust heat so that point where Water Heater starts heating water is closer to point where heat stops.

losing water through pressure relief valve
I have an A.O. Smith boiler, hw160ap. Every time it runs, it constantly leaks water from the pressure relief valve. It isn't a high pressure leak, it just oozes out slowly, but will lose about 10 gallons during an average day. The valve is new, so that isn't the problem.

Burner does not stay lit
Sudden loss of hot water. After cycling power to unit, burner ignites and burns for 3-4 secs. After 30 s, second attempt with same result. After third and fourth attempt, the blower fan goes off. Green indicator light flashes six times.
