  Inside compartment
  There is an inside compartment, and i do not know what this is for. Inside the water well. I obtained this coffemaker from my deceased grandmother. it had no manual.

  help
  i tried to open the upper half of the coffee machine inorder to rinse the warter container. But wasnt able to. I pushed the black rubber (which popps out of thelittle hole)in the water container and it got pushed inside. I did this thinking the upper half of the machine would come off.. but it didnt. I then tried to clean the coffee maker by adding only water and no coffee. BUt now the water is not flowing into the coffee jar and there is a loud noise coming from the machine. Pls help.

  shutoff lever
  The spring that operates the lever that shuts off the coffee flow when you remove the carafe fell out. I can't see how it mounts in the coffeemaker. Any suggestions?
