Wanna open it and I got only till the top pitched cover where the cable is coming from. How do I open the rest?

TIMER PROBLEM WITH HAMILTON BEACH COFFEE MAKER MODEL 45224
When attempting to plug in subject coffee maker, numbers are displayed on the timer, then a fast count begins indicating that there is a issue with the clock / timer feature preventing the unit from being powered on which results in the coffee maker being non operational.

Freezes too fast
I have just purchased this product and have tried to use it twice. Both times the ice cream mixture froze so quickly to the sides of the bowl that the paddle could not turn. I tried the first time with the mixture chilled, and the second time with the mixture a room temperature.
