Can You Help With This Problem?

  automatic temperature shut off
  Refrigerator runs continually and goes until it overheats. It will not shut down unless I manually turn the temp. knob all the way to off. Service person could not diagnose the problem and said that maybe it wasn't level, but it is level. Is there something that I can check or do?
