I have this c50 model coffee maker. It has a loose spring, but I don't know how this spring works. Can you tell me how to install the spring (which I assume keeps the filter in place).

I am writing from Jamaica. I got a Sunbeam percolator from a friend in the Turks and Caicos Islands but the manual was destroyed before i could use it. Looking at the models on the internet it might be between model numbers 3281-3286. i would like to use the percolator. Can you please help me.
