Can You Help With This Problem?

  • Posted by bill on May 11th, 2008 at 10:23am

    Won't wash
I have a Kitchenai dishwasher that is no more than 3 months old.
This morning, my dishes were dirty after completion of a wash cycle. I noted the position of one of the top arms and restarted it. After allowing time for fill and start of wash, I quickly opened the door and, rather than seeing the expected temporary rush of water and rotating arms, I observed a very sluggish exit of water from one of the bottom arms and nothing from the top arms. The top arms were in the same position as when I started it.
I have occasionally washed jars with labels on them but not it the past two weeks or so and I've never seen bits of label stuck in any of the openings in the arms.
I pressed the "cancel" button and observed that it took far longer than usual for the sounds of water exiting into the disposer to subside.
I have observed recently a few other occasions of apparently poor wash performance but usually attributed it to blocked arms.
It appears to me that there may be a blockage somewhere
Does anyone have any ideas other than the obvious..call the dealer? Can the bottom assembly be lifted out for inspection?
    Thanks
    Bill
