    On the bottom of my 380l upright freezer FJ 383 their is a red light showing and it is not keeping cold. Can you please help me or do i need to call someone out thanks

      Just found out that Westinghouse frost free verticle freezer Model No: FJ303 & FJ383 under went a safety recall in March 2001. Aparently the Defrost element was causing fires in the freezer. Westinghouse are not making replacement elements for these models. I only found this out after chasing a replacement element for a customers freezer and had noted melted plastic behind the element. Will investigate further and keep people informed as to solution.

    • Freezer not Freezing

      Is the fan at the top working, I have a similar problem and the fan is not working but is OK as I removed it and checked it There must be a thermostat somewhere that is not switching it on.

    • Freezer Not Working

      Have just had the same issue, Fan not working Red light on. The faulty is the Defrost Timer. This is mounted on the back and you will need to have access to the rear of of the Freezer

    • Fault with Freezer

      The fault seems to be the heater element which when it fails stops fan from working as it uses the element as a return to neutral. Have ordered an element will advise.
