Moffat Electric Oven MSS 600

Cant work out how to use oven that has an integral Grill The oven dial has 4 pictures on it but cant work out what they mean. help please

    Here's a link to the manual for the MSS600, it seems you can cook with either the top or bottom elements, or both. No idea why you'd want to use just the top or just the bottom, I managed to successfully burn a pizza to a crisp on the bottom, while the top looked barely done :/
