  My coffeemaker was doing the same thing, so I played with it a while and found that the clear plastic cover was not connecting with the sensor good enough. I just took a folded piece of paper and jammed it into the slot (on the left side, where the grinder lid fits into is where that particular sensor is) and it is working fine now. The grinder lid also kept my main lid from shutting correctly. Oh well, so much for buying a coffeemaker with a grinder.

  I found that the clear grinder cover on mine was merely not screwed in all the way. When I made sure that it was all the way in it started to flash OP1, then when i closed the top hinged lid it displayed the time again.
