Rancilio Espresso Maker E1

Too much pressure

My machine pressure seems to hold for a while but then rises past 25psi to 30-35 causing the release valve to vent. Not sure how to fix this or what to do about it. I just downloaded the manual but did not find any information regarding pressure issues. Maybe it is the temperature/thermometer gauge? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
