F-1

We heard a beep and the digital screen shows "F-1". The manual says to call for service. Is the oven element or stove element out? Can we simply replace them? What other problems might there be?

    I SEE YOU ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE HAD. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME REPLACING THIS TOUCH PAD WHICH WAS ABOUT $132.00 WHEN YOU COOK AND IT GETS WET FROM ANY SPILL OR JUST TRYING TO CLEAN THE PAD WITH WINDEX IT STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD NOT GO OFF IT KEPT BEEPING AND F-1 APPEARS WHICH IS FAIL 1 / I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY RECALL ON THIS. NOTHING BUT WHAT IS SO FUNNY IS I JUST USED THE OVEN AND IT STARTED AGAIN. F-1 I UNPLUGGED THE STOVE OR WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SLEEP. THIS IS A DEFECT AND AMANA SHOULD REPLACE THIS STOVE OR THE WHOLE ENTIRE TOP OF THE STOVE. I JUST HAD IT REPLACED JULY 2007 AND NOW IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN OCT 2008 IF THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN EVERY YEAR I WILL CALL CHANNEL 2 WORKS FOR YOU WHERE I LIVE I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP REPLACING THIS STUPID PAD

  • Amana Electric Range ACS7270AS F-1 error code

    Have also experienced the F-1 code that indicates a problem with the Electronic Timer Control. I sent the timer away to ApplianceTimers.com to be fixed - but it looks like they tested the timer & it is OK. Now I'm trying to explore a blog about how the oven temperature sensor might be implicated in the F-1 error code.
