If your food chopper is non electric, hand chopper then I, too, find it difficult to disassemble but not impossible. I push down on the plunger and pull on the clear plastic. Usually it will come apart, allowing the blade and plastic blade guide to come out, too. I always have to fiddle with it to remember how to do it but it can be done. Good luck.
