You say the "blades move freely." The blades are two right-angle shaped pieces of metal bolted to a circular plate which in turn is attached to the motor shaft. Does that plate on which they are mounted turn freely? (Check it with a wooden cooking spoon, not your hand!) If it does or does not turn regardless, look on the bottom of the unit (under the sink) - in the center is a slot into which you can insert a hex wrench - it's a standard size somewhere between 1/4" and 3/8" inch - don't know for certain at the moment. With that wrench, manually turn the motor a bit - and be sure the switch is OFF! If that gets the unit working again, good. If not, sounds like it's time to replace it. I have the same unit and was online looking for a manual... the spinner plate on mine has detached itself from the motor. Not sure how that happened since we hardly use it.
