freezer compartment

bottom of freezer compartment collects ice over time (1 night up to 2 weeks completely covered with ice in the floor grooves of the freezer compartment - how do I avoid this problem. It doesn't appear to matter whether the compartment is packed full or partially full (not blocking vents in back side fo compartment
