tempt gone funny

The house I live in came with the Inglis Superb, System 2000 Serial# 6db00684 I do not understand the tempt. There is no directions and no numbers just slide the button left or right. There is a energy saver butten that beeps when you leave the door open to long. For some reason my freezer and fridge turned down in tempt. Any help on this very old model would be great
