Pull the plunger of the syringe to
fill the instrument/suction channels
and channel cleaning adapter
with disinfectant solution.
Fill basin with disinfectant. Attach a 
suction cleaning adapter (MAJ-222) to
the previously cleaned bronchoscope. 
Immerse completely in disinfectant 
solution.
While immersed, detach the adapter
from the bronchoscope. Use a clean,
lint-free cloth to wipe away any bub-
bles clinging to external surfaces.
Soak all equipment according 
to the time and temperature 
recommended by the disinfectant
manufacturer. Use a timer to mea-

disinfectant from the instrument

scope from the disinfectant.
Disconnect the suction cleaning
adapter and immerse the broncho-
scope and adapter in sterile water.
Using a sterile, lint-free cloth, thor-

Connect suction cleaning adapter
to bronchoscope and to a tube
from a suction pump. Aspirate 
water through channels for 30 
seconds. Remove from water and
aspirate air through channels for
60 seconds.
Turn the suction pump off. Hold the control
section with the openings pointing down and
disconnect the suction cleaning adapter.
Dry the bronchoscope and adapter with an
alcohol-moistened cloth. Make sure that the
equipment is completely dry prior to storage.
Hold all parts of the endoscope when carrying. Do
not let the ends of the bronchoscope swing freely.
Clean the bronchoscope
meticulously prior to disinfection.
•Wear appropriate personal protective 
equipment during reprocessing.
•Autoclave all autoclavable accessories.
•Store the bronchoscope hanging vertically 
with all valves and caps removed.
•Use a compatible disinfectant and test it
for proper concentration as recommended 
by the manufacturer.
•Do not use the carrying case to store 
"patient-ready" endoscopes. Any 
bronchoscope placed in the carrying case 
must be reprocessed prior to patient use.
Immerse the bronchoscope's distal
end in 70% alcohol and aspirate
alcohol for 5 seconds. Remove the
distal end from the alcohol and
aspirate air for 20 seconds.
