Normal Operation
Query Media
Location
The Query Media Location command obtains information
about a specified medium or multiple media used in the
VolServ system. A report is generated and can be sent to the
screen, a specified file, or printer. This query is only available
though the GUI.
The report shows the medium’s location state, current archive,
and bin location. If an AML/E archive is shown, an additional
field Location Type, is added to the report as shown in the
screen display on “Query Media Location” on page 4-49. The
default report produces the following information:

Field Description
Media ID The medium’s identifier number.
Location State Where the medium is physically located.
Valid values are Archive, Checkout, or
Intransit.
Current Archive The name of the archive if the medium is
physically located in an archive.
