With the help of the following notes, minor faults in the performance of the
appliance, some of which may result from incorrect operation can be put right
without contacting the Service Department.

Installation work and repairs to electrical appliances must only be carried
out by a suitably qualified person in strict accordance with current local and
national safety regulations. Repairs and other work by unqualified persons
could be dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for unauthorised
work.
Problem Possible cause Remedy
The hob or cooking
zones cannot be
switched on.
The mains fuse has tripped. Reset the trip switch in the
mains fuse box (minimum
fuse rating - see data plate).
There may be a technical
fault.
Disconnect the appliance
from the electricity supply
for approx. 1 minute. To do
this:
– switch off at the isolator,
or
– disconnect the mains
fuse.
Reset the trip switch in the
mains fuse box, and switch
the appliance back on. If it
still will not switch on,
contact a qualified
electrician or the Miele Ser
-
vice Department.
There is a strange
smell or vapours
when a new
appliance is being
used.
The protective conditioning
agent on metal components
gives off a smell and
possibly some vapours. The
material from which the
induction coils are made
also gives off a smell in the
first few hours of operation.
The smell and any vapours
will become less noticeable
beore dissipating
completely. They are not
hazardous to health.
