The clean light comes on after 60 brews. To clean, remove charc filter, fill tank w/ 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. Next hold the clean button for 3 secs (this is the part that is causing all of us distress LOL). The cleaning cycle is: 24 7 sec spurts with a 21 sec rest in between. HERE IS THE KICKER... THE CLEANING CYCLE TAKES 60 MINS TO COMPLETE (30 mins clean+30 mins rest)!! IT CANNOT BE STOPPED ONCE STARTING (un-plugging it only resets the 60 min timer!).

Mix the descaling agent into a tank of water and turn the machine on. Run 8oz. of solution out the steam wand (as liquid, not as steam) and turn the machine off for 20 minutes. Repeat 3 times. Rinse the tank and fill with clean water. Run all the water out the steam wand . Make one coffee and discard. Enjoy! - Repeat every 2-3 months depending on water hardness and coffee use.
