push the button that says auto. when it is flashing set the brew time. hold the auto button in for about 3 seconds until the green light stays on continuously. it is now set. enjoy!

I've pushed all three illegitimately marked buttons for hours at a time and nothing. Any simple coffee maker that is not self explanatory in how to operate it is, in my opinion, a really horrible design.
