Product Problem: Error code on an LX18H dishwasher?

After loading the dishwasher and starting its cycle, the unit fills, then, apparently just stops and displays "E4." Is this error code easily fixed? Or are we doomed to getting a new dishwasher?

I want to use my dishwasher to clean with regular temperature water, but no heated drying cycle. Unfortunately, I am unable to track down a user manual. Can I avoid the heat cycle if I stop the dishwasher when the dial reaches "Rinse and Hold"? Also, does anyone know what temperature the water is at during the regular temperature wash cycle?
