The Start button jams on, and will not release and goes to the set menu where F and C scales can be selected. A great thermometer that is useless because of this defect. We cannot take temperatures as a result. Eventually the unit turns itself off. This is a fault that might be tolerated if the thermometer was a $20 job from China.
