My dishwasher is not working, no matter which prog...

My dishwasher is not working, no matter which programme I select after a gew seconds the light next to the arrow pointing to vertical line (is this the door light?) flashes and programme won't start. I've cleaned filters but thats not helped. Any advice? Thanks!
