Question About Amana Oven AER5845QAN

I just moved into a house that has an Amana Smooth Top range model # AER584QAN. The oven temperature seems to be way off. If a recipe calls for 400 degrees at 20 minutes, it is burring in just 10 minutes. I am getting brown burn marks all around the oven door. I am afraid it will start a fire. Please help.
