Question About Amana Refrigerator None
Evaporator fan does not work...

The freezer went warm and the refer side went warm also I noticed the the evap. fan stopped working so I replaced the evaporator fan because it wasn't working. Now with the new one it still doesn't. What am I missing here? Is there a fuse I should check

5 A.In answer to Mike's evap fan problem, I have the exact Frige and I discovered by looking at the Schematic Drawing on the back of the frige, that the fan was getting power through the YEL wires, but not the BRN wires. I traced the BRN wires to discover that this power has to come THROUGH the defrost heater first, then to the fan. I checked the heater and sure enough it was defective. It read 114 k ohms of resistance when it should have read about 30 ohms. Installed the new heater and now the fan works great. I forgot, I had to open the defrost timer (behind the grille on the floor)and clean the contacts. I assume you have a good working defrost limit switch. Hopes this helped.
