water...

dishwasher not used much but has standing water at bottom of dishwasher. what would cause this?

1 Re: above Q, I think the standing water would be caused by an interrupted cycle, or drainage blocked by debris. My question: How to properly use rinse aid? It just seems to stay in the screw-in compartment whether or not the lid is screwed on. In general this dishwasher has been pretty bad. Any manual or advice appreciated.
