My Avanti chest freezer Model CF 199 is on normal ...

My Avanti chest freezer Model CF 199 is on normal setting but the compressor is not shutting off and on like it has been; it is not constantly working. It is set between the no 3 and 4 setting on the thermostat. What should I do?
