5 If you are having problems getting below 40, there are several easy things that can be tried. Try an empty unit first. The most recent one I worked on droped from 80 to 32 in 15 minutes with no extra load. Next, make sure there is nothing preventing the condenser from expelling heat. Check lines for any restriction. Lastly, call a tech if this doesn't work, there could be an issue with the thermostat.
