lock the bowl and lid, but machine still will not turn on

5 It is critical to lock the lid into the proper place on the bowl. I had the same issue; I was sure I had the lid locked onto the bowl properly. First, lock the bowl onto the machine with the handle straight on, directly facing you. Then lock the lid onto the bowl so the "tab" of the lid fits into the slot right above or at the top of the handle.
