People. Please investigate the items you buy. Just because it is cheap does not mean your getting what you want. This does not use Freon. This is a thermoelectric cooler. This unit will not keep items COLD as a normal Refrigerator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling
