Our dishwasher is omitting an unpleasant smell ,which is transferring to everything that is put through a wash cycle. We have cleaned the inside intensively, used an industry made dishwasher cycle cleaner and leave in a specific dishwasher air fresher without any success. On the left side at the base of the machine is a cap with the inscriptions of "salt" in various languages. Not sure what this compartment is for and whether salt should be added.
