Stuck in cycle empting the washer...

SHX43C05UC46 When starting a new cycle, the machine goes into a mode of emptying the washer when there is no water. It will not add water until it empties the machine, so the pump is constantly working to dump water out of the tank when there is no water. It acts as if the float is stuck in the upper position and the float does not fall??
