hi i just wanna ask how to put on or lid the fire ...

hi i just wanna ask how to put on or lid the fire from the baking parts.my friend bought it on second hand without taking the manual...i tried to put a little fire inside the steel hole by using a crampled paper with fire on it but it doesn't give a fire from inside..thank you.
