My #RM659004 hood will run for hours, but when you start to cook something on the cooktop it will shut off after about 10 minutes. What should I look for?

5 the thermometer sensor has stopped working or is faulty . when you cook it creates heat and the hood is reading over heating and safety shuts it off so it will not catch fire. call sears store in your area and see what they say. either replace the sensor or the hood.
