Cannot get Cuisinart CBC-5200PC to run on auto bre...

Cannot get Cuisinart CBC-5200PC to run on auto brew. Set clock and the red light on the start comes on but it does not start, Also when I turn on brew it runs only 3 to 4 cups of coffee then stops. What the heck is wrong, IT wont work,. For this amount of money you would expect it to work at least for one try!
