How to remove the switch/display panel in order to repair the push-button switch? I could dismantle the coffemaker as far as the procedure was obvious. But the inner shell that obscures the switchboard doesn't give way.

1 Unfortunately not. You know that the Instruction Manual isn't a Service Manual.

0 OK. Nobody knows. So I helped myself. In the rear, just below the lid hinge, there is a slot that takes a screw driver. If you manage to unlatch the two nipples in the neighborhood the same time, levering with the screw driver will lift the crucial part off the housing. The riser pipe will just slip out of its connecting hose. The rest is not easy, but obvious. In my case, the tactile switch behind the ON/OFF button was the culprit. After desoldering and dismantling it, its snap-action disk turned out not to return, and both surfaces of the contact spot were obscured with a black mass that I couldn't identify. Scrap. The switch is a through-hole straight 6-mm tact switch with a 4.3 mm actuator height, for instance a C&K PTS645-S-L-43-2. Before you reassemble the machine, have a tiny tube of silicone waterproof sealant, for instance LOCTITE CLEAR SILICONE from HENKEL to seal the passages for the control flat cable. Good luck, and have a ton of patience!
