Water leaks out while brewing. It pours onto the resting plate. About half of the water actually get brewing and into the pot. How can I fix this problem?

0 Check the carafe lid for water throughput. I have 2 lids - one lets through much water, the other one impedes it. For the latter case, it may help to make the coffee in paper rather than the screen funnel: Paper is slower.
