My washer fills with water, then doesn't start the...

My washer fills with water, then doesn't start the wash cycle. This is a new problem. Happened about 6 weeks ago, but started working again, now it is doing it again. I can reset and it pumps the water out, but same things next try. Like there is a control switch that is not engaging. What can I do?
