The cooker works, but I am battling to get the float to rise in order to get it on high pressure cooking. I follow everything in the instructions to the letter and am sure I am not doing something wrong. It buids up pressure, but instead of starting to count down the minutes you have programmed it with it just builds pressure and then goes to "keep warm" mode immediatly. I understand the instructions.

5 I just found the advisors note on your problem: Defaults to "Keep Warm" instead of "Pressure" function - Reason: After browning or saute, temperature too high for pressure cooking. Solution: Switch off pressure cooker and wait too cool down.

4 It worked! I called my sister and here is what to do. Transfer food to another container. Remove the inner container/ pot and wash it. Put a cup of water in and cook on high pressure for one minute. This should reset the ccooker. Add more lliquid to the food if the current liquid is to thick or to little. Return to pot and viola! It worked!

3 I also have the problem that instead of going into high pressure mode and counting down the timer the unit goes to keep warm. I have switched it off for severeal minutes but it still does this

1 if the pressure cooker is to hot let it cool down completely and try again. If there is too much liquid (over and above the full mark) the pressure cooker will not build up steam. This is due to one of its safety precautions.

1 I am also using my unit for the first time, and I have let it cool down several times, but it also keeps on going to keep warm, as soon as the pressure builds up.

0 I also had the problem where the unit kept going onto warming. Exchanged the unit now I have a unit that just beeps all the time and you can't stop it. patiently waiting for an AEG technician to call me.

0 My wife is having the same problem. If I use water only the problem does not arise but as soon as she tries to cook food it does not work until maybe the fourth or fifth attempt.

0 Has no-one got a reply on this yet? I have a brand new unit maybe 4 uses that now just goes into keep warm instead of pressure cooking!

0 I myself have had my AEG pressure cooker replaced, only the first time did it ever go to high pressure, other than that it goes to keep warm mode. I am very unimpressed with this product, hoping someone can give us a solution fast before I toss it in the dustbin.

0 Still no solution? It's been 4 years since the first post, did anyone get a solution?

0 It happened to mine as well. I believe it is a safety feature. Caused the first time because someone emmersed the electrics. All I did was was opened it up and dried out the circuit board. It happens sometimes on second cook when the food is fairly thick and heat is retained in lower section of pot. This is caused by the gummy nature of the food doesn't allow convection. Try stirring and adding a little water. Good luck from South Africa

0 keeps on going to warm mode after cooling down and adding extra water!!!!! and its a new pressure cooker that worked the 2 previous times!! so what now!!

0 Do not put tomato puree in when you start cooking. It forms a sediment on the bottom. Also, if the liquid is to thick or to much it will switch off. That said, right at this moment I'm cooking a beef stew with all the precautions and it is switching off. I just added a bit more water hoping it would help. Another tip: if you burn meat slightly add a spoon of peanut butter and cook it in. Works wonderful as it takes the burn taste out.

0 I had the same problems as all the other people experiencing and took my fisrt machine back and received a new one. After the warranty expired it did the same and I phoned the customer care and was told that i must put the lid in hot water as the valve blocks but this is still not helping as the pressure cooker is still going to "keep warm". I feel very upset about this as I thought this was the best buy ever, but now I am questioning this thought.

0 This must be the most frustrating appliance to use. I have had mine replaced, and it worked ok for a few times, now it just goes to keep warm all the time. A meal that should be ready in 45 minutes, takes twice as long, because this crap machine keeps going to keep warm. They obviously use shitty components which malfunction after a short time of use. I will never buy an AEG or Electrolux product again. Phillips also makes an electric pressure cooker, and that seems to work 10 times better.

0 I just washed mine out and put the meat back in. Didn't default to keep warm now. Been struggling for 2 hours - supper should have been done by now.
