I just opened my brand new Emerson 12 cup automati...

I just opened my brand new Emerson 12 cup automatic drip coffeemaker and began to read the instructions. The manual said "Brewing Instructions on page 7" There is NO page 7!! I am trying to wash it before use & can't figure how to get the hinged basket holder off? Help??. Rie418
