My oven/stove is a professional series even cook convection oven. The broiling unit stopped working. I turn it on you can hear it click and a fan blowing. When I use the oven which works, as it heats up you can hear it click and the bar moves up and down until it reaches the correct temp. When the top part is supposed to be heating up and the light bar is up top, just a fan that comes on. The oven does heat up. But the broil part it won't work nor does it heat up.

5 There could be an internal break in the broil element itself. It's easy to remove. Unplug the oven, open the door one click and remove it (should slide up and off, may have 2 screws holding it in), remove the racks, and in the back are 2 screws holding the element in. Remove them, pull it out and pull off the spade clip wires off. Then inside of the bottom drawer, somewhere is a label with a model and serial number. Write those down or snap a pic, and take it to an appliance parts store or look on whirlpools website. Snap the new one in, secure the screws and put everything back together. I don't think it's the broiler switch because the bottom bake element works. Give that a try.
