The freezer alarm keeps going off. I will unplug the unit for a few minutes, tap on the compressor and plug it back in and the freezer begins to run again. The compressor is very hot when I notice this issue. What could the problem be? Need an answer but a manual would be nice also. Thanks.

0 Hi pd5m, thanks for your inquiry! The alarm continuing to go off is an indicator that the thermistor has detected a high temperature. When you unplug your freezer and touch the compressor it will be hot, as the compressor is running it will produce heat due to the electric components within it. From my understanding it sounds like possible issue within your thermistor or control board. You could perform a reset on your appliance which can be done by unplugging or flipping the household circuit breaker off for ten minutes. I would recommend seeking assistance from a technician if you continue to have issues with the alarm to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -OOS
