Question About Frigidaire Microwave Oven CFMV156DC

While recently cooking a turkey dinner on my Frigidaire ES300 the bottom of the microwave door melted rendering it useless now. The fan was operating at the time as were 3 gas burners. Do you think that this was excess heat for the microwave to handle?
