0 Hi mom1042, I am happy to assist you! More commonly, the door strike/latch can become bent or misaligned over time and may interfere with the connection. If not clear to the naked eye, you can determine if the door strike is good by listening for the lock to attempt to close. If it sounds like that, then it could possibly be the door switch or door lock assembly altogether. If you have checked the door and the door strike/latch, and both appear to be in working order, you may want to connect with a qualified servicer to diagnose the exact problem. Parts can be costly so having an accurate diagnosis is always the best bet.
