We are in FL for winters and leave for 6 months in summer. Is it better to leave the fridge running or turn it off and leave the door open? We usually turn it off but recently heard you should leave them on. Maybe just for the newer ones ours is kinda old. Thanks

0 Good Morning Roeroe3-04, I see that you are only at your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# GLRT183TDW, 6 months out of the year, and are wondering whether to leave it on or turn it off. When leaving for extended periods, you will want to remove all food and ice if you will be gone one month or more. 1) Turn controls to "O" (the OFF position) and disconnect power. 2) Turn off the automatic ice maker and turn the water supply valve to the closed position. 3) Clean the interior thoroughly. 4) Leave both doors open to prevent odors and mold build-up. Block the doors open if necessary. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards-
