0 Hello jrbeasleyjr - If you suspect the filter is leaking, make sure it is the filter and not the hoses coming from the filter. Sometimes the clamps on the hoses for fridge water filters can come loose or the hose itself could crack; in which case the hose would need replacing (or tightening the clamp), and not the filter. If you clearly find the filter is leaking, the best thing to do is make sure it is installed properly. If it is securely in place, then you may just have a defective filter and changing it will solve the leaking. You will need to remove the filter, which is typically located in the back of the refrigerator and inspect it to see what condition it is in. •For instance, if it is black or looks dirty, you probably will want to replace it. •Moreover, when there is a leak or a clog, you will notice a dramatic decrease in the output of the water dispenser tab, which is another sign there may be a leak in the water filter. If you know the water filter in your refrigerator is leaking, then you can take the water filter out and see if it has anything loose on it, but typically if it is leaking, it probably is best to replace the water filters for refrigerators. •This is especially true if you use the filtered water from the refrigerator as your main home water filter systems. •Moreover, if it has been awhile since you changed the filter; it can become clogged over time, which can cause it to leak. When you are faced with having a leaking filter refrigerator water unit, it helps to think through the pros and cons of fixing the leak vs. replacing the refrigerator water filter. If you recently purchased water filters for refrigerators and changed it out, and then noticed the leak, chances are either you installed it incorrectly, or you have a faulty filter. Therefore, inspect the filter to see where it is leaking from, sometimes if it is just leaking from the hose, simply tightening the compression around it might solve the problem. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reconnect.
