Comes up with 'purging' and can't see in the manual what this means.Any ideas?

5 Had a similar problem myself. Eventually managed to solve it myself (more by luck than judgement) as follows:- Go into menu system and select descaling. When the display says the machine is descaling, place container under steam nozzle and turn steam switch to on. Machine vents hot water through the steam pipe for a few seconds. Turn steam off and on again. Repeat a few times. Next turn the machine off with the steam vent open, then turn machine back on. Water will bent from steam pipe. Turn steam off. Display will say "Hot water... warming up". After a few minutes, machine will saye "Select product - ready for use". Machine should work normally now. Hope this helps somebody sometime.
