I purchased a PP989TN4WW cooktop and had an electrical installation question? I am replacing model JP389WOV1WW with 4-conductor branch circuit. The new cooktop power leads are green, red, and the black and white are crimped together. I made 5-6 calls to GE asking why the white and black were connected. I got no or confusing answers including if installed this way it would fry the unit. Can you help or provide a GE contact that can help?
