GE Dishwasher...

Lately, my dishwasher has been leaving a gritty residue on my dishes. Also, half of my dishes come out as dirty as they were going in. I've tried switching detergents and rinse agents, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone had this problem and how can it be repaired?
