GE Dishwasher Model # GSD2350 does not drain. It ...

GE Dishwasher Model # GSD2350 does not drain. It goes into the drain cycle but water is not pumping out. There is a small plastic white ball that is in the tub and I'm not certian where it goes but I suspect that this may have something to do with the problem. HELP?
